ACADEMIC WORKSHOPS FOR SUMMER
Kinder Camp
📘 Kinder Camp is an academic readiness program for children entering kindergarten or first grade. This small-group camp builds essential early literacy and math skills through structured, skill-based instruction. Students will work on letter-sound automaticity, phonemic awareness, handwriting, number sense, counting, and foundational problem-solving—alongside integrated STEM and fine motor activities. Limited to 8 students for targeted, high-quality support. This is a drop-off class.

- CHEMISTRY FOR KIDS
🧪 Chemistry for Kids introduces students to the basics of chemistry through safe, hands-on experiments and guided exploration. Young scientists will investigate reactions, mixtures, and states of matter while building observation, prediction, and reasoning skills. Each session includes age-appropriate academic vocabulary and take-home projects to reinforce learning beyond the workshop.

- MUSIC, POETRY AND ART
🎨 Music, Poetry & Art blends literacy and creativity through integrated lessons that inspire expression and comprehension. Each session begins with a song, poem, or piece of art and guides students to respond through writing and visual creation. Students will build vocabulary, explore meaning, and strengthen early literacy skills while developing their artistic voice.

- Creative Writing
✍️ Creative Writing invites students to explore their imagination and develop their writing voice through structured, skill-based lessons. Students will learn to create strong characters, vivid settings, and engaging plots while practicing sentence structure, grammar, and revision strategies. This class builds writing stamina, confidence, and creativity in a supportive workshop setting.

- Math Mysteries
🕵️ Math Mysteries challenges students to use logic, reasoning, and grade-level math skills to crack codes, follow clues, and solve a mystery. Each student works on appropriately leveled problems while contributing to a collaborative investigation. This class strengthens problem-solving, number sense, and mathematical thinking in an engaging, story-based format.

- Cursive Handwriting Workshop
✒️ Cursive Handwriting teaches students how to form and connect cursive letters with accuracy and consistency. Through guided practice, students will build muscle memory, improve writing fluency, and develop confidence in reading and writing cursive. This class supports fine motor development and written communication skills for upper elementary students.

- Rube Goldberg - Mechanical Chain Reactions
⚙️ Rube Goldberg Machines invites students to explore engineering, cause-and-effect, and problem-solving by designing overly complex machines to complete simple tasks. Through hands-on building and creative thinking, students will learn about chain reactions, trial and error, and teamwork—while applying STEM concepts in a fun, challenging format.

This class strengthens number sense, mental math, and fluency in a fun, interactive setting that supports learners at all levels.
